Apparently Craigslist scammers learned basic English grammatical skills.

Hello,

Thank you very much for getting back, should have written you back earlier than this but I suddenly have a lot on my plate at the moment. I'm sorry I won't be able to come see it anymore as planned. I have a family emergency, my grandmother has just been diagnosed with breast cancer and needs to start treatment immediately possibly surgery soon. I'm traveling to Kansas City in the next couple of hours to stay with her at Saint Luke’s Cancer Institute for couple of months, be by her side till she recovers fully, she has been more than a mother to me. Enough of my family health issues, sorry for pouring it out on you like this.

I would really still love to go ahead and buy this, need it for someone very close and dear to me, been postponing getting it for quite a while now. As soon as I'm able to this week or early next week to get to the bank I will purchase an official bank check for the quoted sale price and will be adding couple of extra funds also to cover the shipping cost. I will also be arranging for a mover to come over for pick up and handle all other delivery process. The added funds will be used to pay the movers for pick up and delivery.

I will be very happy and glad if I can consider this sold to me. Please email me back with your name, mailing address and your cell phone number to mail the check to you. Thanks a lot, sorry again I couldn't make it. I hope you are doing great? I'll be waiting to hear from you soon.

Thank you once again.

Write Back Soon.

Well goddamn, they've achieved sentience.

Not quite. Breaks down once it gets to the scam part - leading one to believe it's copy-pasted from somewhere with edit. That is how much these guys fail - they had to copy-paste a health emergency story.

Nope. Insertion of human content is not considered passing the Turing test so much as cheating at it.

But if they're cheating, they've achieved enough sentience for craigslist.

Craigslist: home of the non-sentient human.

Only one that gave it away. Saint Luke's Cancer Inst is real and in KC. Scary.

Ha. Scammer's in my town! Joking aside, that is the most complex email scam I've seen to date. Kind of too obvious once it gets past the money bit, as other pointed out.
